This isn't a 'scalp wash with a head rub.' It's a five-phase Japanese ritual performed by a single therapist, on a dedicated Yume bed, in a sensory room built for nothing else.
- 01Welcome and scalp consultation.Pressure, pacing and product, tailored to your scalp and what your week has done to you.
- 02Head, neck and shoulder massage.Deep, deliberate work through the scalp, temples, jaw and shoulders. The week starts coming undone.
- 03Organic deep cleanse and scalp treatment.Professional Japanese and European organic formulations. Buildup dissolves. Your scalp starts to breathe.
- 04Steam, head bath and water ritual.Continuous warm water from the Yume bed's integrated fountain. The bit guests describe to their friends afterwards.
- 05Finishing oils, blow-dry, return.Scalp balanced. Hair styled. A quiet moment to come back before you walk out the door.

At La Vela Ashgrove, head spa rituals range from $245 for the 70-minute Exhale Ritual to $495 for the 140-minute Serenity Ritual. Our most popular, the 90-minute Renewal Ritual, is $295. Every ritual takes place in your own sensory room, on a Yume head spa bed with its own warm waterfall, using organic products. Nothing is rushed.

Absolutely, and most of them need it more than they realise. Our Gentleman's Ritual is the exact same environment, technique and product as every other La Vela ritual. No compromises, no awkwardness, no 'men's version.'
Yes. Our Bloom Ritual is designed specifically for expectant and new mums, gentle, calming, and recommended during the 1st and 2nd trimester, up to 20 weeks. As our head spa beds require you to lie flat, guests beyond 20 weeks should check with their doctor or midwife before booking.
The experience is still absolutely worthwhile. We shift focus to an extended scalp, neck and shoulder massage with nourishing scalp oil work. If you would like to skip the wash and treatment steps, we use that time for additional massage.
No. Come exactly as you are. Dry, styled, or three days unwashed. The cleansing phase is part of your ritual.

Yes. Our Brisbane studio accommodates up to two guests at the same time. Each guest can select a different ritual.
Book online as normal. At the payment section, enter your gift voucher code. The deposit is taken from the gift card and the remainder is finalised on the day. Bring your gift card or code with you.
We offer a 15-minute grace period, though your treatment time may be reduced. No-shows and cancellations within 48 hours of the appointment will result in forfeiture of your deposit.
