Meet Alice The Hands Behind La Vela

Alice Kim Invincibile is the founder of La Vela Head Spa and the creator of The La Vela Touch - the signature technique that underpins every La Vela head spa treatment.

You are safe here. You can let go.

In her own words

I created La Vela because I kept noticing how much people were carrying - not just in their shoulders, but through the scalp, jaw, temples, neck, face and nervous system. Many people arrived looking composed, but their body told a different story.

Tight scalp. Held jaw. Heavy shoulders. Shallow breathing. A mind that could not switch off.

I did not set out to build a brand. I set out to build the room I felt people needed - somewhere quiet, sensory, intentional and deeply calming.

Over time, through training, repetition and thousands of hands-on client experiences, I developed what we now call The La Vela Touch.

The La Vela Touch is not a treatment on its own. It is the signature technique that underpins all La Vela head spa treatments. Every ritual on our menu is guided by it. Every practitioner is trained in it. Every room is designed to support it.

It is how we work with the scalp.
It is how we hold pace.
It is how we use breath.
It is how we approach tension.
It is how we create the feeling people remember after they leave.

What we offer is something different: time, touch, scalp care, sensory calm and a place where the body can begin to soften.

The signature technique

What is The La Vela Touch?

The La Vela Touch is the signature technique that underpins every La Vela head spa treatment.

Created by founder Alice Kim Invincibile through global training and thousands of client experiences, it brings together scalp therapy, muscle tension release, lymphatic-inspired movements, circulation support, breathwork, premium organic products and a purpose-built sensory environment.

01

The head is where it starts

Tension settles through the scalp fascia, temples, jaw, neck and shoulders. The Touch works there because it is often where the body reveals what it has been holding. The head is not just the scalp - it is what the scalp is connected to.

02

Lymphatic-inspired flow

Gentle lymphatic-inspired movements through the scalp, face, neck and shoulders, designed to encourage a feeling of natural flow and lightness. This is a non-medical wellness technique - not a medical lymphatic drainage treatment.

03

Circulation and scalp vitality

Massage, warm water, scalp stimulation and premium organic products. Intentional scalp massage helps encourage circulation through the scalp and supports a refreshed scalp environment - the foundation for cleaner, lighter, healthier-feeling hair.

04

Muscle tension release

Specialised massage softens the scalp fascia, temples, jaw, neck and shoulders. The pressure is intentional, never rushed - we are not simply moving over the surface, we are listening through the hands.

05

Nervous system relaxation

Every treatment begins with a pause - a deep breath in, a slow breath out. Then warm water, slow rhythm, soft lighting, calming scent and steady touch. The pace is part of the technique, designed to help the body feel safe enough to let go.

06

Premium organic products

Organic care has been part of La Vela from day one. Oway for hair and scalp. Eminence Organic Skincare for facial work. The products are not separate from the treatment - they are part of the touch.

07

The sensory environment

The room is part of The La Vela Touch. Soft lighting, calming scent, intentional sound, warm water, the treatment bed and the practitioner's rhythm all work together. The room does half the work. The hands do the rest.

The La Vela Touch underpins every head spa treatment on the La Vela menu. Whether a guest books a renewal ritual, a signature relaxation experience, a premium head spa, a couples treatment or a scalp-focused service, the foundation remains the same.

Different treatments. One signature touch.

The head carries more than people realise. The scalp is not separate from the nervous system - it is one of the places stress speaks through the body. - Alice Kim Invincibile

01How La Vela began

A response to something people were craving.

La Vela began as a single treatment room in Palm Beach on the Gold Coast. Alice had experienced head spa overseas and felt something she had not found in Australia at the time - a treatment that allowed the mind to go quiet and the body to fully settle.

She became fascinated by the space between beauty and deep relaxation. Not clinical treatment. Not a rushed salon add-on. Not a service designed only for the before-and-after photo. Something slower. Something sensory. Something that gave people permission to stop.

The first client fell asleep. Then the next one did. Then most of the ones after that. That was when Alice knew La Vela was not just a service - it was a response to something people were craving.

02The origins of The Touch

Global in influence. Uniquely La Vela in execution.

The La Vela Touch was shaped through years of learning, practice and refinement. Alice's journey took her across the world, learning from practitioners and masters in their fields across Singapore, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan and Australia.

Each place offered a different perspective on touch, massage, scalp care, facial technique, relaxation, ritual and the body's natural systems. These influences were not copied directly into La Vela - they were absorbed, refined and shaped through real client experience.

After thousands of clients, Alice began to see patterns. Where stress settled. How different scalps responded. When a client needed deeper pressure. When the body needed softness instead. When the breath changed. When the nervous system began to settle. That experience became The La Vela Touch.

03The room people needed

The room I felt people needed.

The first La Vela room was built around one feeling: somewhere quiet, sensory, intentional and deeply calming. A place where the body could begin to soften, where the mind could go quiet without anyone asking it to.

A treatment bed. Warm water. Organic products. Intentional touch. No rush. The sensory environment was not background decoration. It was a core part of the experience from day one.

"I did not set out to build a brand. I set out to build the room I felt people needed." La Vela became a brand because too many other people needed it too.

The La Vela Touch is not a treatment. It is the way every La Vela treatment is performed. - Alice Kim Invincibile
What makes La Vela different

Not a standard head massage.

Most guests come to La Vela expecting a relaxing scalp treatment. What they experience is something more layered.

The difference is The La Vela Touch - Alice's signature technique, developed through global training and thousands of client experiences, then taught to every La Vela practitioner. The Touch brings together:

Scalp therapy
Scalp fascia awareness
Head, neck and shoulder massage
Jaw and facial tension awareness
Lymphatic-inspired movements
Circulation support
Breathwork
Aromatherapy
Sound healing
Premium organic products
Warm water rituals
Sensory room design
Global technique influences
Hands-on practitioner training
Thousands of client experiences

That combination is the La Vela difference.

Years of hands-on hours. The judgement is what you're paying for.
04Training, taught not improvised

It is not a theory. It is the hands behind it.

Alice has worked in beauty and wellness for years and has personally treated thousands of clients. Her training includes head spa, massage technique, facial work, organic skincare, scalp care, body work, pressure-point-inspired practices and hands-on treatment education across multiple countries.

She has learned from practitioners and masters in their fields across Singapore, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan and Australia. These experiences shaped her understanding of touch, relaxation, scalp care, product use and the body's response to slow, intentional work.

The La Vela Touch is the result of that learning, combined with years of practical experience. It is not a theory. It is not copied from a single course. It is not improvised treatment by treatment. It is a signature technique developed through real hands, real clients and repeated refinement.

That experience is what Alice now trains into every La Vela practitioner. The Touch is taught, not improvised. Every La Vela practitioner is trained in the signature technique before performing treatments on guests - hands-on, focused not only on the sequence of movements but on the judgement behind them.

Practitioners are trained in how to hold pressure, when to slow down, how to work with the scalp fascia, how to support the neck and shoulders, how to incorporate breath, how to maintain the rhythm of the treatment, how to use organic products correctly, how to protect the sensory environment, and how to recognise when a guest should be referred to a health professional.

A guest may book in Brisbane or on the Gold Coast. They may book a different treatment or see a different practitioner. But the experience should still feel unmistakably La Vela. That consistency comes from The La Vela Touch.

Touch is the key. The hands learnt it before the words did. - Alice Kim Invincibile
Alice's standards

Some things we will not do.

The honesty is part of the care.

We do not rush the ritual.

The pace is part of the treatment. The La Vela Touch is designed to help the body settle, and that cannot happen if the experience feels hurried.

We do not treat the scalp as an afterthought.

The scalp is central to every La Vela head spa treatment. It is cleansed, massaged, nourished and cared for with intention.

We do not separate the room from the treatment.

The sensory environment is part of the work. Scent, light, sound, water, product and touch all contribute to the result.

We do not use products casually.

Organic products have been incorporated into La Vela from day one. What touches the scalp and skin matters.

We do not allow the technique to become generic.

The La Vela Touch is trained, refined and protected. It is the foundation of the brand.

We do not make medical claims.

La Vela is a non-medical wellness service. We do not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition. If a guest has a medical scalp, skin, hair or health concern, we recommend seeing a qualified health professional.

05A note on family

Two cities. One family. One signature touch.

La Vela became more than one studio when Alicea, Alice's sister-in-law, opened La Vela Ashgrove in Brisbane.

Alicea was the first practitioner trained in The La Vela Touch. She trained directly with Alice before opening the Brisbane studio, learning not only the treatment sequences but the philosophy behind them.

The Brisbane studio carries the same foundation as Palm Beach: same signature technique, same organic product philosophy, same sensory room standard, same unhurried pace, same approach to scalp care and relaxation.

Palm Beach is where La Vela began. Ashgrove is where the family practice expanded. Two cities. One family. One signature touch.
